Landed ("we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what your rights are.
We've written this in plain English. If anything's unclear, email us at hello@wearelanded.nl and we'll explain it properly.
Who we are
Landed is a relocation and property search service based in Leiden, the Netherlands.
Trading name: Landed
Founder / Data controller: Tom Wright
Business address: Calslaan 23, 2314 GJ Leiden, the Netherlands
KVK number: Registration pending
Email: hello@wearelanded.nl
For the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Dutch Uitvoeringswet AVG, Landed is the "data controller" of any personal data you share with us.
What we collect
We only collect personal data that you actively share with us. We don't track you across the web, and our website doesn't use hidden trackers.
When you book a discovery call
You book calls with us through Calendly. Calendly collects:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Anything you choose to add in the booking notes
- The date and time of your appointment
When you email us
If you email hello@wearelanded.nl, we'll receive your email address, your name (if included), and the contents of your message.
When you become a client
If we go on to work together, we'll collect additional information necessary to deliver the service — for example, your address, family situation, employer, budget, and other details relevant to your relocation. We only collect what we need to help you.
Cookies and analytics
Our website (landednl.com) does not currently use cookies or analytics tracking. If we add analytics in the future, we'll update this policy and ask for your consent.
Why we collect it (lawful basis)
Under GDPR, we need a lawful basis for processing your personal data. We rely on:
- Consent — when you book a call or email us, you're actively choosing to share your information
- Performance of a contract — if you become a client, we need your data to deliver the service you've hired us for
- Legitimate interest — to respond to your enquiries and prepare for our conversations
- Legal obligation — for tax and accounting purposes, where applicable
Who we share your data with
We share data with a small number of trusted third parties that help us run our business:
- Calendly Inc. (calendly.com) — provides our booking system. Calendly is based in the United States and is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
- Google (Google Workspace / Gmail) — hosts our email at hello@wearelanded.nl. Google operates under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and applies Standard Contractual Clauses for any data transfers outside the EEA.
We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or pass it on for marketing.
International transfers
Some of our service providers (Calendly, Google) are based in the United States, which means your data may be transferred to and stored on servers outside the European Economic Area (EEA). These transfers are protected by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission has approved as providing adequate protection for personal data.
You can read each provider's own privacy policy here:
- Calendly: calendly.com/privacy
- Google: policies.google.com/privacy
How long we keep your data
We only keep your data for as long as we need it:
- Discovery call bookings: 12 months after the call, then deleted
- General email enquiries: 24 months after the last contact, then deleted
- Client data: for the duration of our engagement and for 7 years afterwards, as required by Dutch tax law (Algemene wet inzake rijksbelastingen)
Your rights under GDPR
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — ask what data we hold about you
- Rectification — ask us to correct anything that's wrong
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Restriction — ask us to pause using your data
- Portability — ask us to send your data to you in a usable format
- Objection — object to how we're using your data
- Withdraw consent — change your mind at any time
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@wearelanded.nl. We'll respond within one month.
How we keep your data safe
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including:
- Encrypted email and storage through Google Workspace
- Access limited to the people who need it
- Choosing service providers that meet GDPR standards
No system is ever 100% secure, but we treat your data with the care we'd want for our own.
Children
Our service is contracted by and provided to adults. We don't collect personal data directly from children.
However, if you are relocating with children, you may share information about them with us — for example, their names, ages, schooling needs, or other details relevant to your move. Where you do:
- We process this information based on your consent as the parent or legal guardian (Article 8 GDPR)
- We use it only to support your relocation — for example, helping with school research or area recommendations
- We hold it with the same care as your own client data, and under the same retention periods
- We delete it on request
If you have any concerns about how we handle your children's data, email hello@wearelanded.nl.
Right to complain
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority:
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll let you know — either by email (if you're a client) or via a clear notice on our website.
